I’ve seen cool Web Designs with Transparent PNG.
Basically IE6.0 or bellow doesn’t support a Transparent PNG.
However you could use IE PNG Fix, IE can show properly Transparent PNG.
Following site is great example for using Transparent PNG for Web Design.
